Ready-to-Consume Pouches
- Do you serve chilled ready-to-use juices in cups or cartons in your operations?
- Do you purchase those juices in truckload quantities?
If you answered "yes" to both of those questions,
then
Nedlog can
save you some money…
Nedlog now has the technology to pack its delicious 100% juices in a flexible plastic Mini-Sip pouch. Whether your need is for as small a package as 4-ounce, or as large as 12-ounce, we can take care of you.
Compared to juices packed in cups or cartons, juices packed in pouches usually are less expensive to purchase. The savings can range up to $.01 per 4-ounce portion, or more.
Your operations also will enjoy cost savings due to trash reduction. As an illustration,
for every 10,000 8-ounce portions consumed, pouches save 5.2 cubic yards of trash relative to cartons. Pouches reduce trash by 80% by weight and 70% by volume when compared to cartons -- less weight to carry to dumpsters; fewer trash container liners needed; cost savings due to smaller dumpsters and/or reduced frequency of pickups. Alternatively, where programs are in place, pouches are fully recyclable.
Additional economies that will result from pouches include:
- Space savings in storage -- pouches require 40% less space than cartons do in coolers.
- More energy efficient than cartons or rigid plastic cups. Pouches help to save electricity, because one 12-case dispenser cooler can accommodate up to 960 4-ounce Nedlog pouches compared to only 600 4-ounce cartons. This also makes the need to re-supply in the middle of serving times less likely.
Other pouch benefits include:
- Pouches are wonderful merchandising packages, because they allow the colorful juices within to be seen. This visual merchandising leads to increased juice consumption.
- When tipped or dropped, the only product lost is what already is in the straw. When a carton or cup is tipped or dropped, the entire contents are lost. With pouches, there is less spillage.
- Pouches are immediately TAMPER EVIDENT.
- Pouches are better for the environment. In EPA-commissioned studies, the pouch was
rated superior to cartons in every category:
- Less energy required to produce
- Less waterborne waste
- Less atmospheric emissions
The use of pouches is widespread across Europe. Although fairly new in the
United States, approximately 6 million pouches are used every day in this
country in school systems as well as in corrections.
